Welcome to Brick Lane Jazz Festival Presents, a year-round event series, showcasing some of the most exciting artists, labels and parties in the London and the rest of the UK.

We’re proud to present a live performance by jazz-post-punk-fusion band **Ebi Soda**, followed by a unique DJ set from the legendary **Jitwam**! The decks will also be graced by **Tru Thoughts residents Robert Luis, WheelUP,** and **Lucy Michael**, joined by the mastermind behind Brick Lane Jazz Festival aka **Juju K**. Get ready Brighton as this one promises to be an unforgettable night!

**ABOUT EBI SODA (LIVE)**

Staunch anti-traditionalists, Ebi Soda are a group of musicians who thrive on the idea of contradiction, creating an idiosyncratic blend of jazz, hip-hop and no-wave post-punk.

Seemingly more inspired by the atmosphere inside a rave – from UK-based underground genres like broken beat to drill – than the sounds heard inside a jazz club. Their only debt to typical jazz being to attempt to innovate and experiment at every opportunity. Characterised by searing trombones, erratic drum-breaks and heavy electronic multi-effect soundscapes that aid on a foundation of breakbeats and sensual basslines.

Formed in the seaside town of Brighton, Ebi Soda keep a post-punk DIY ethic close to their hearts, with songs often birthed from sweaty smoky university bedrooms rather than that of the big band hall.

**ABOUT JITWAM (DJ SET)**

For Jitwam, music has always felt predestined. His first record—a $2 white-label vinyl—turned out to be a Moodymann track, discovered just as his own music was featured on Moodymann’s DJ Kicks compilation. This serendipity reflects Jitwam’s ethos of unity and universality, themes that shape his deeply introspective and politically incisive work. A mainstay in the underground scene, Jitwam blends global sounds with purpose, as seen in his acclaimed LPs ज़ि तम सि हँ and Honeycomb. On his latest album, Third, his vision fully takes flight. “I’d rather release music that means something to me than chase a hit,” he says.

**ABOUT JUJU K (DJ SET)**

Brick Lane Jazz Festival Founder & Resident DJ Juju K brings the vibes with her UK jazz focussed sets touching on everything from soulful house to jazz, hip-hop, African rhythms, broken beat & UKG.

**ABOUT TRU THOUGHTS RECORDS**

Tru Thoughts are a Brighton-based record label that turned 25 in 2024. A&R, DJ and radio presenter Robert Luis, and co-owner Paul Jonas, started the label alongside running club nights in Brighton; They have released a huge variety of music covering Electronic, Jazz, Soul, Broken Beat, Hip Hop & Grime, and Downtempo . Their truly eclectic tastes is reflected in their policy that “good music is good music”. Not to miss!
