Did you know that Sussex is home to a staggering 138 vineyards? This is why we think there is no better way to celebrate English Wine Week, which runs from the 15th - 23rd June, than with a glass (or two) of Sussex Sparkling Wine.

Although if bubbles are too tingly for your tastebuds then you’ll soon discover that Sussex vineyards also produce a delectable selection of reds, whites and rosés too. While English Wine Week is a wonderful opportunity to sample Sussex wines it is also a chance to explore this picturesque county. Whether it’s a vineyard tour, a self-guided walk or dining among the vines there are plenty of ways to experience Sussex during English Wine Week.

A week won’t be enough time to visit all 138 Sussex Vineyards but below is a tiny taster of places to visit to celebrate Sussex during English Wine Week.

Ridgeview Wine Estate

Spend a delicious evening sampling your way through four Ridgeview award winning English Sparkling wines, paired with four carefully selected local cheeses.

Wiston Estate

The Wiston Tour & Tasting allows visitors to discover the story of the vineyard and try some of the wines made on the estate.

Great British Wine Tours

Let Great British Wine Tours organise your day out for you, their Vintage Bus Tour lets you experience two Sussex Vineyards or for something different try the Steam & Vine tour which includes a ride on the Bluebell Railway.

Albourne Estate

Enjoy a delicious picnic to eat amongst the vines at Albourne Estate. Picnics come pre-packed in a wicker basket equipped with napkins, cutlery, plates and glasses.

This charming vineyard is nestled within the picturesque village of Ditchling. There are a variety of tours available including Sparkling Wine, Wine & Cheese or Picnic Tours.

Stopham Vineyard

Vineyard, winery and wine tasting tours with the winemaker are available at 11am or 2pm on Saturdays and we recommend making a day of it and adding in a two-course lunch at The White Hart on the River Arun.

Mannings Heath

For an alternative way to experience a Sussex vineyard why not visit Mannings and hop aboard one of their buggies for an unforgettable journey?

Highweald Wine Estate

Tours & Tastings are available, or you can simply pop into the Cellar Door shop to select a bottle to take home although if you’re not driving then you may be tempted to visit the Garden Bar to enjoy a drink overlooking the vines.

Bolney Wine Estate

If you are looking for the perfect spot to enjoy locally sourced food in a picturesque location then you’ll love Bolney’s Eighteen Acre Café. Why not try a glass of Bolney’s English Garden Spritz with your meal?

Leonardslee Wine Estate

Indulge in a unique English Wine Week tasting to celebrate the launch of Leonardslee Wine Estate’ signature Sussex sparkling wine collection.

We hope you enjoy a taste of Sussex during English Wine Week and throughout the year.
