Elina Duni & Rob Luft’s programme of songs of love and exile has been gathering momentum since 2017, when the Albanian singer and the English guitarist began their collaboration.

Rob Luft's guitar playing incorporates echoes of West African high-life, Celtic folk and textural minimalism via the use of long delays, reverbs & loops. His joyously original sound finds an ideal counterpart in Elina Duni's warm vocals. Together, they take us on a journey through timeless folksongs from the Balkans and the Mediterranean which still resonate so truly today. The full range of music addressed runs from ancient traditional pieces to original compositions co-written by Rob & Elina, as well as standard songs made famous by Frank Sinatra and Charles Aznavour. Their first collaborative work, “Lost Ships”, was released on the famed ECM Records in November 2020 & their latest album, “A Time To Remember”, was also released on ECM in summer 2023. It is currently The Guardian’s "Jazz Album of The Month", receiving a four star write-up from John Fordham at the beginning of July.
