For quite some time people had been asking us when the annual Northern Soul Afternooner at The Spiegeltent would be happening this year. Sadly, The Spiegeltent itself will not be a feature of The Brighton Fringe Festival this year owing to the extensive road development taking place around The Old Steine in Brighton.

We had a number of alternative venue options offered to us but have been reluctant to make plans as we felt there were few places that could come near to replicating the special atmosphere that The Spiegeltent never failed to deliver for our event.

However - as if by divine intervention - something totally unexpected has happened and we can now announce that we will be staging an Afternooner this year and the St Augustine's Arts Centre really does look like being completely off the scale.

This is a site that has NEVER staged a Soul Music event such as ours and we are quite certain that all our patrons willNEVER have entertained the notion of dancing and listening to our music in such an environment.

This Grade 2 Listed site represents a groundbreaking departure from anything we have ever attempted before - but we are sure people will appreciate the magnificent setting and all that this historic site represents.

St Augustine's boasts marvellous wood and marble floor surfaces to dance to 'That Beatin' Rhythm in the Northern Soul/Motown/R&B arena whilst a 'Disco Inferno' will be raging from a high altar...quite literally!

One will also be able to chill out too in the idyllic, peaceful garden area which surrounds St Augustine's.

300 Souls have already registered for tickets and they are the first to have been alerted to the availability of tickets. We just ask that you alert your close friends too as FOMO looks likely to reaching epidemic proportions and sadly, there is no known antidote. When those tickets are gone - they're GONE! Even though there will have been 650 of them!

At the core of it all are Clive Rayson & Paddy Shevlin who are treating the event as nothing less than a Celebration of Life itself. They've been Keeping The Faith for over 50 years now and just want this to be a truly life affirming event at a time when there's just too much gloom around. The boys always deliver - but despite their vigour and startling good looks - be minded that you need to catch them while you can.

They'll be joined by several special guests who can be relied upon to keep the pot boiling!
