Today we welcome back Alfie Beer from The Green Door Store who is here to give us the insider's guide to the upcoming GDS Presents...
Early spring: what a time to be in Brighton. The newfound warmth and extra daylight brings such a sense of optimism - and at the Green Door Store, we're optimistic that we can bring you your new favourite band. Nestled in the Trafalgar Arches directly below the train station, we’re a grassroots music venue with a beautiful community atmosphere across up to nine different events a week. As well as hosting renowned international touring artists; we take enormous pride in nurturing new talent & giving them a platform to hone their craft through our GDS Presents evenings. These nights are where creativity & inspiration come to thrive, upcoming artists give it their all- this is your chance to catch the stars of tomorrow.
This April we’re excited to have four very different GDS Presents gigs coming up! On the 18th we’ve got Dutch noise-rockers Søwt headlining the venue for the first time after mesmerising crowds on two occasions last year. Truly monstrous in sound, they’re not a band to be missed. We were delighted to add Carne & Spill as support acts- both Brighton based and causing a stir across the city with their high octane live performances. This is a night for the fans who like it loud!
Rising local indie heartthrob Joe Little is set to top the bill on the 28th April with his personal & intimate approach to songwriting. Joining him are the infectiously entertaining Kocapoli & AlfE who has recently released a new single to wide applause. The following day-29th April- we play host to The Wrong Trousers who’ll be celebrating the release of their highly anticipated new single. Despite their tender ages, they’ve been winning a devout following with their unique angular riffs and intense live performances- we’re big fans of them here and can see them going on to huge things! Laden with sixties inspired harmonies, Telecom will be main support on the night with the much beloved Arcadia Residential and newcomer Dosi Dos. Our final GDS Presents bill of the month comes in the form of Crysometimes, Coco & The Lost, and Cowz on 30th April. Playful pop, indie & pop-punk is in abundance with this tribble threat billing- now that’s a way to finish off the month!
Thanks Alfie!
