We've decided to get to know a few of the businesses we work with a bit better and today we speak to Jamie from Phoenix Treatments...
Please tell us about your business and what you offer to visitors coming to Brighton.
At Phoenix Treatments and Beauty, founded in 2017, we provide a sanctuary of relaxation just a stone’s throw from Brighton Station. Our award-winning, vegan spa offers eco-conscious treatments for both locals and visitors. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, we specialize in personalized services designed to refresh and rejuvenate, from soothing massages and luxurious facials to manicures, pedicures, and expert waxing. We chose this location not only for its accessibility but also for its affordable parking options at Brighton Station (£3.20 for 2 hours), which is more than half the price of most other central car parks.
We are incredibly proud of our 960 Google reviews with an impressive 4.9 average rating, which reflect our dedication to providing high-quality, ethical spa and beauty treatments. Phoenix is also moving into more advanced facial treatments, including radiofrequency and collagen lift facials, which target skin rejuvenation, firmness, and overall radiance.
Alongside Phoenix, I co-founded FaceBase, our neighboring beauty space, with my good friend Mia Bowden. FaceBase specializes in a different set of beauty treatments, including SPMU (e.g. microblading), lash extensions, and advanced facials such as hydra facial and microneedling, allowing us to cater to a broader range of beauty needs right next door. What do you like most about what you do?
What I love most is witnessing the transformation in our clients – not only in how they look but in their renewed confidence and sense of calm. It’s deeply fulfilling to create a space where people from all walks of life feel welcome, supported, and relaxed. Working with a team that shares a commitment to inclusivity and high standards of care makes this work truly special.
What inspired you to start your business?
Phoenix was born from a desire to build a luxurious, eco-friendly spa that reflected my values of inclusivity and sustainability. I wanted to offer high-quality treatments using vegan and organic products, creating a space that aligns with the vibrant, diverse ethos of Brighton. Our accessible location near the station, with affordable parking options, makes it easy for locals and visitors alike to unwind in a welcoming, ethical environment.
What is the best thing about your work?
The best part of my work is the sense of community we’ve built at Phoenix. Our clients trust us for ethical beauty treatments, and we’re proud to be a welcoming space for all, including the LGBTQ+ community. Knowing that we’re making a positive impact on our clients’ well-being and supporting Brighton’s eco-conscious culture is incredibly rewarding.
What is your average day like, or is it never average?
Every day at Phoenix is unique. I might be enhancing our services, connecting with clients, or overseeing the daily operations that make Phoenix an inclusive space. The dynamic nature of running a beauty spa in such a vibrant and diverse city keeps things exciting and challenging.
What would you like to be doing as an alternative career?
If I weren’t running Phoenix, I could see myself in mindset coaching or business consulting. I’m passionate about helping people achieve their goals, whether through personal growth, wellness, or sustainable business practices. Creating positive, impactful experiences is at the core of what I love.
What is next for you and your business?
I'm planning to franchise Phoenix early 2025, allowing us to bring the Phoenix experience to more locations and reach a wider audience. By franchising, we aim to partner with passionate individuals who share our vision of providing exceptional, vegan-friendly, and eco-conscious beauty treatments. We're also focused on building our online brand visibility so more people can discover the Phoenix difference. Stay updated on our journey at www.phoenixbrighton.co.uk.
What do you like most about Brighton, and what is the best thing you like to do in the city?
Brighton’s energy and openness are unmatched – it’s an inclusive city that values diversity and creativity. I love spending time exploring the Lanes, visiting the unique shops, and experiencing the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. Brighton’s mix of seaside charm and cultural vibrancy makes it an amazing place to have significant ties to and build a community-focused business.
Thank you!
