Why we like it: Perfect for beautifully crafted gifts, Audrey’s gorgeous shop is a shopping experience that makes us smile. With a huge range of chocolates to choose from, this is the perfect stop to get something for everyone.

What are we buying? The rose and violet chocolates which are presented in a beautiful gift box.


Gift Donation to the Royal Pavilion 

Why we like it: Brighton’s iconic Royal Pavilion is in need of some help to repair and preserve one of the 'at risk' domes on the iconic roof of the Royal Pavilion this Christmas. We want to keep the Brighton skyline as it is, so will be helping them to raise some much-needed money.

What are we buying? Investment in Brighton’s rich Regency history.

Why we like it: Nancy has been making bespoke scents for years, and her shop in the Lanes is the perfect chance to pick out something unique and personal.

What are we buying? A bottle of  JASMINE SACRÉ, rich and mysterious, and also available in a beautiful, hand-crafted ceramic bottle


A Night Away at snooze 

Why we like it: Yes, we live in Brighton but who doesn’t love a night away? Especially when it is as funky as Snooze. This chic boutique hotel is the perfect bolthole for a trip to the city, with luxurious vintage rooms and a decadent breakfast-in-bed menu, bliss!

What are we buying? We love the super funky 70’s suites.


Exquisite Tea from Bird & Blend 

Why we like it: There is nothing run of the mill about Bird & Blend, with vibrant and unusual blends sitting alongside old favourites such as classic breakfast tea, the tea lover in your life will thank you. Being in the heart of the North Laine area makes this a lovely place to shop and support independent businesses.

What are we buying? Their Gingerbread Chai is the perfect festive drink and is a great addition to any food hamper gifts, warming and spicy in just the right balance. Alternatively, their Wallace and Gromit mug and tea cube is making us feel festive.


A festive tipple from Madame Jennifer Gin

Why we like it: With classy vintage bottles, and a wide range embracing beautiful gin blends and cracking cocktail kits,  Madame Jennifer’s is the perfect addition to your festive shopping. Nestled in the heart of Poet’s Corner in Hove makes this shop as local as you can get, although you can also buy online, and in selected local shops.

What are we buying? A gift voucher for a distillery tour would be top of our Christmas list, (read how Charlotte on the team enjoyed the tour here) We are also in love with their Christmas gin and they make gin baubles that look beautiful hung on a tree or being poured into a glass.


Stylish Homewares from Utility 

Why we like it: Utility is a treasure trove of stylish homewares, from nutcrackers to corkscrews they are the perfect stop on your shopping trip for all those essential Christmas items and have a great range of gift ideas for that tricky-to-buy for the foodie in your life.

What are we buying? Their Tweadmill recycled wool blankets are exactly what we want to be snuggled under while watching a Christmas film.

Why we like it: Right on the seafront and the birthplace of the famous Brighton & Hove Calendar, we love to wander around this gorgeous seafront gallery looking for gift inspiration. Based in the arches the gallery features the very best photography of Brighton and the South Downs by some of the city’s favourite photographers.

What are we buying?  A Brighton and Hove Calendar is a must, although their picture of the Brighton Palace Pier let up in rainbow lights is one of our favourite images of the city.


A funky accessory from the Martlets Shop

Why we like it: Perfect for treasure hunters and fashionistas, you’ll find clothes and accessories from the 1920s through to the 1980s here, a wonderful choice for the fashion follower in your family and you will be supporting the wonderful work of Martlets, who are there when people need them the most.

What are we buying: Some retro homeware is going to look perfect on our Christmas table.


Traditional Christmas Coffee from Trading Post

Why we like it: Offering natural, sustainable, fair trade, premium coffee, Trading Post is the perfect stop for your Christmas shopping trip, not only can you enjoy a lovely brunch or lunch to keep you fuelled they offer all the coffee options you could wish for.

What are we buying? The Christmas Polar Express coffee blend is a festive tradition in our house, perfect for bringing some luxury to Christmas morning breakfast.


A tipple from Brunswick Fine Wines and Spirits

Why we like it: This central shop is located on New Road and is perfect to visit for gifts or even just for yourself! With a great range of fine wines and spirits, including rarities that you may not find elsewhere you can make sure you gift a really good bottle.

What are we buying?  A bottle of red from a local Sussex vineyard.


Something spectacular from Velvet 

Why we like it: The shop window at Velvet is spectacular year-round but comes into its own at Christmas, it’s an award-winning work of art. With sparkling Christmas trees and twinkly lights to welcome you in, it’s just a joy to visit. Once inside you’ll find a wonderful range of stylish gifts, Christmas decorations, clothes, and homeware.

What we are buying: A gift card, part of the joy of this shop is in the browsing and visiting for yourself. Plus, you can order up until the 20th of December, great for those last-minute presents.

Why we like it: It’s a treasure trove of beautiful stationery and who doesn’t like stationary? From professional ink pens with vibrant inks to handmade notebooks, that anyone would treasure, this place is a treasure trove dedicated to creativity and handmade products. If you are looking for extra special wrapping paper, they have a range of handmade, unique options, guaranteed to set your gift apart from the rest.

What are we buying? It has to be a beautiful ink pen or one of their Japanese-inspired silk screen wraps, which are stunning.

Why we like it: Rather than buying yet another toy that is going to sit gathering dust, we would prefer to get the kids an experience. Sussex’s no.1 family festival Elderflower Fields is a brilliant weekend of discovery and outdoor adventure taking place just 40 minutes from Brighton over the late May bank holiday weekend and is the perfect chance to get the kids outdoors and off screens to enjoy the countryside and learn new skills.   

What are we buying? If you haven’t got tickets already, they would make a great gift. Alternatively, if like us you have booked already, why not buy an experience? The kids can learn everything from kayaking to mushroom glass blowing.
