Do you need more Summer Holiday fun ideas for the kids? Well you're in luck as 14 year old Eliza & Esmé are here to tell us about their first-ever escape room experience at Pier Pressure...

Our adventure began with a booking for the Tea Party Escape Room at Pier Pressure in Brighton’s Trafalgar Lane. Little did we know we were about to step into an entirely different world.

The building seemed totally ordinary at first, but any sense of the ordinary was quickly shattered. Jordan, our host, greeted us with a warm smile and a bottle of water, and gave us a rundown of what to expect, sprinkled with some intriguing hints. Being first-timers in the world of escape rooms, we were eager yet unsure of what lay ahead. But Jordan's enthusiasm was contagious.

Then, in a flash, he vanished, only to return adorned in a vibrant, multi-coloured cape and a top hat. With a mischievous grin, he revealed that he was in a bit of a predicament and needed our help. The only way to assist him was to find three mysterious objects hidden within the escape room. What were they? Well, that’s a secret we can’t spoil for you!

We were then ushered through a vividly colourful door, straight into the heart of Wonderland. The world inside was a riot of imagination, where observation, teamwork, and puzzle-solving were our keys to success. We were buzzing with excitement, giving ourselves the team name ‘Monty Scout’ after our pets, Monty the cat and Scout the dog.

The challenges were as thrilling as they were demanding. We tackled riddles, navigated through crawl spaces, and even had to dance our way through some tasks! There were moments of pure bewilderment, especially when we found ourselves licking something (yes, it was as strange as it sounds), but we can't reveal too much—you need to go yourself to find out! When we were stumped we had to meow for a clue which was just so funny!

The room’s decor was magical, completely immersing us in a world far removed from reality. Time seemed to slip away as we raced against the clock, finishing our mission with just two minutes to spare. The 58 minutes flew by in a blur.

Jordan, gave us lots of praise for our teamwork and problem-solving skills, and was really  impressed by how good we were. We left feeling really excited, already planning our next adventure. Though we tackled the family-friendly level this time, we’d love to try a more difficult challenge next time.

There’s lots of options including Loot the Lanes, Modrophenia, Pavilion Perplex, Smugglers Secret, Ravers Quest, and Broken which are all different levels of difficult—there’s something for everyone. If you’re seeking an unforgettable afternoon of fun, Pier Pressure is an absolute must. We’re already plotting our return, ready to dive into another thrilling escape!
