Whether it’s half-term fun with the kids, or enjoying a grown-ups-only vineyard tour, it’s all happening in Brighton & Hove this May Bank Holiday! The fun doesn’t stop there, as after the bank holiday there are still tons of fab half-term activities and events to be enjoyed too. 

Ditchling Museum of Art & Craft - Bloomin’ Brilliant: The Life and Work of Raymond Briggs: 27 April – 27 October

A new exhibition featuring never-seen-before items and artworks from one of the UK´s most beloved author-illustrators in the part of East Sussex that he made his home. Bloomin’ Brilliant: The Life and Work of Raymond Briggs is a highly personal show that will bring together 30 items from the late author´s estate.


Leonardslee - Leonardslee Lates: 24 – 26 May

Bask in live music as the sun sets over their vibrant spring gardens with our exciting series of late-night openings. A magical evening of food, drink, and music all with the backdrop of a stunningly beautiful Leonardslee landscape.

Artist Open Houses – Across the city: 25 – 27 May

The Artist Open Houses offer festival goers the chance to meet the artists and to view locally made, seriously good arts and crafts. The festival is also an inclusive, community event, embracing artists of all ages, at all stages of their careers, including recent graduates and school and college students.


Brighton Fringe – Family Fun: 25 May – 2 June

With hundreds of events this May the Fringe is a great place to plan your family fun, with bubble performers, kids' theatre, clown wars, and workshops check out their website to organise your May half-term.


Borde Hill – Springtime Stretch Kids Wellbeing Trail: 25 May – 2 June 

This May half-term, get ready to strike some seriously playful yoga poses as you journey through the Garden on an engaging kids’ wellbeing trail. These are no ordinary poses, but stretches that will make your children giggle, smile, and unleash your inner warrior or dancer!


Wakehurst -  Plant Olympics: 25 May – 2 June

It’s time to stretch muscles and minds as the latest mission for young adventurers at Wakehurst calls upon the mightiest heroes to enter the Nature Olympics. Theatre Royal – Free activities for Children & Families: 28 May – 1 June 

In honour of Theatre Royal Brighton’s massive recent refurbishment, and to coincide with May Half Term, their Creative Learning Department will be running a series of free drop-in craft events under the colonnade, perfect to keep everyone entertained for free! Tue 28 May, 1 pm – 3 pm: Mini terracotta pots and model making. Wed 29 May, 11 am - 1 pm: Make a pop-up Theatre Royal Brighton. Thu 30 May, 1.30 pm – 3.30 pm: Mini terracotta makes and pop-up theatres. Sat 1 Jun, 1 - 3 pm: Seaside-themed arts and crafts.


Fabrica - Fantastical Clay Creatures Workshop: 29 May

Join professional artist facilitator Lynn Weddle on an enchanting journey into the world of clay sculpture. Lynn will guide young participants through a hands-on exploration of the unique tactile qualities of clay as they mold and shape their very own fantastical creatures. Ages 5-9 session, 10.30 am – midday, ages 8-12 years, 1 – 2.30 pm.
