About

'Alex has finally fought back. She has done something really big. She thinks she may have kidnapped her attacker. Or she punched that bigot. Or has she spent all night writing hate reviews to the restaurants she doesn't like. She can't quite remember. But she thought it would make her feel better...'

Writer, performance artist and activist Travis Alabanza is a bold and blazing talent who has received huge critical acclaim for their raw and provocative work. Alabanza's work explores trans and non-binary experiences, challenging perceptions and amplifying marginalised voices.

Their past shows 'Burgerz' and 'Overflow' have enjoyed sell-out runs at Southbank Centre and the Royal Court.

This new commission—the latest freshly penned monologue in our annual series—will premiere and be performed live at the festival by a special guest, followed by a deep dive into its inspiration with Alabanza and Russell Tovey.
