Wivelsfield Little Theatre presents Noel Coward's classic comedy of manners Relative Values.
Miranda Frayle, a Hollywood starlet movie actress with a secret, is preparing to wed an Earl, much to the dismay of his family and their diminished staff. In the middle of a sedate dinner in the English mansion, Miranda’s former flame and current Hollywood sensation, Don arrives. Miranda is conflicted, distressed and furious by his intrusion and attempts to send Don packing, except that the wary and wise Countess, knowing that the actress is no match for her son, blithely invites Don to stay for the evening.
The drinks begin to flow and the truth starts to emerge, so we wonder, by the end of the night……
Will the Countess’ meddling make a difference?
Will we find out why the lady’s maid is so outraged?
Will Miranda forgive Don’s intrusion?
Will secrets be revealed?
Will the British line remain intact?
And…….Will love win out in the end?
