About this course:

This course is designed to enable you to evaluate risks to your personal safety and manage those risks when working in potentially violent and/or aggressive situations. The course offers a range of strategies to protect your personal safety while at work. This course will also equip you to understand, control and manage challenging situations and build your confidence in diffusing a situation.

The importance of personal safety training:

Giving proper attention to personal safety concerns can protect individuals from injury and illness and provide a sense of increased peace and comfort in any situation and environment.

Who is this for?:

This course is suitable for any member of staff who works in a frontline role.

Learning Outcomes:

The course will cover:

* Boundary setting
* What personal safety and violence/aggression is
* The personal safety hazards you may face as a frontline member of staff
* The control measures and other arrangements that can be put in place to manage personal safety risks
* The behaviour cycle
* Diffusion techniques to support you when dealing with potentially violent or aggressive situations.

Additional information:

Please note that this is NOT a self-defence course.

This course is free of charge, and if you wish to cancel, we require five working days' notice, otherwise there will be a cancellation fee of £50 to your department.
