About
Towner presents a selection of sculpture, prints and drawings by internationally renowned artist Nigel Hall (b.1943). The exhibition includes some of his earliest American desert landscape sketches from the late 1960s, alongside a number of large-scale drawings, and the newest sculptural works, through which he has been exploring an interest in computer-modelling. A Royal Academician since 2003, Hall is one of the most respected sculptors in contemporary British Art. Whilst best known for his 3D work, drawing has always been an essential part of his practice, whether as an idea for a sculpture or in its own right he continually uses it as a medium to explore space, light, shadow and structure. Displayed together in this exhibition demonstrates the breadth of his work across media as well as across his 50-year career.
