Join artist Gerard Byrne to discuss his moving image work: Jielemeguvvie guvvie sjisjnjeli - Film inside an image currently on display at Towner until 21 April 2025. Gerard will be in conversation with writer Brian Dillon. They will talk about Gerard's work, its relationship to early image making technologies and dioramas. to receive a link to the Zoom webinar.About Gerard Byrne Gerard Byrne is an artist based in Dublin. His work has been widely exhibited internationally, including at Documenta 13, several Venice biennales, and at many other biennials and museums globally. His practice is represented by several galleries internationally, including Lisson gallery. He is Professor of Film at the Staedelschule, Frankfurt. Most recently, with Judith Wilkinson, he co-curated "On Television, Beckett" a definitive survey of Samuel Beckett's 20 year collaboration with SDR television, at the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart. About Brian Dillon Brian Dillon is an Irish writer based in London. His books include Affinities, Suppose a Sentence, Essayism and In the Dark Room. His writing has appeared in such publications as frieze, Art Review, the Guardian, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and the London Review of Books.Acessibility This conversation will take place online and have closed captioning.
