About
About this course:
A comprehensive Fire Warden training course that will equip you with all the knowledge you need to become a fully trained Fire Warden and Evacuation Controller at the University of Brighton. This course covers your duties under the latest fire legislation, as well as looking at fire-prevention measures, the correct use of fire extinguishers, and how to manage a safe evacuation.
The importance of fire warden training:
The university has a legal requirement to provide fire wardens. The Fire Safety Team train staff to support all university building occupiers to exit a building safely, during an alarm activation.
Who is this for?:
This training is suitable for all staff. Flexible working practices have reduced the numbers of staff regularly on campus and additional fire wardens are required to support these changes. This course is suitable for those new to their fire warden roles, as well as those seeking a refresher.
Learning outcomes:
* Learn about your proactive and reactive duties as a Fire Warden Understand and meet the requirements of the Fire Safety Order 2005 and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
* The hazards and dangers associated with fire
* The fundamental principles of fire prevention
* Learn when it is safe to fight a fire and when it is not and how to use the various types of fire extinguishers correctly
Additional information:
Thank you for demonstrating your commitment to implementing sound emergency fire procedures. Please note that the course is free of charge. If you wish to cancel, we require five working days' notice, otherwise there will be a cancellation fee of £50 to your department. Anyone wishing to obtain Fire Warden refresher training is also welcomed to attend this course.
