Experimental Drawing

About

Join artist Luke Hannam for an intensive day dedicated to the art of pure drawing, where you'll immerse yourself in techniques designed to elevate your line work to new heights. Throughout this engaging workshop, you'll explore how line creates form, unlocking the expressive potential of your drawings. Delve into the concept of 'lyricism'—a philosophical approach that can transform your artistic expression—learning how to infuse your work with emotion and vitality.

As you sharpen your skills, you'll focus on strengthening your hand-eye coordination, an essential component for any artist, while also gaining insights into 20th-century drawing styles. Luke will guide you in recognising and incorporating these influences into your own work, enhancing your ability to draw with confidence and creativity.

This workshop promises to allow you to experiment, take risks, and grow as an artist in a supportive environment. Whether you're looking to refine your skills or try a new creative practice, you'll leave with valuable knowledge and a fresh perspective on your drawing practice.

The workshop includes an exclusive tour of the modernist home and studio at Charleston, providing a glimpse into its rich artistic history, along with all the materials you'll need to bring your creations to life.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including a delicious lunch made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
