This training consists of 2 parts: e-learning and a practical session. Please read all the information below as there are various aspects you need to be aware of to take the course.
Part 1 E-learning
The e-learning content is hosted on an external website belonging to PGS (Proactive Gas Safety). You will be sent log on details once you have booked your practical session slot (via this page)
The 2 e-learning packages must be completed PRIOR to attendance on campus. Each e-learning will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
Part 2 Practical Session
You will need to attend one of the practical sessions on 11th March on Moulsecoomb campus.
PPE (personal protective equipment) Requirements
To take part in the practical session and to pass the course, you are required to wear trousers that cover the tops of your shoes and to bring the following:
* Safety shoes with reinforced toe caps
* Safety glasses
* Lab coat (needed to access the lab facility)
* Gloves to protect against damage from rough edges(e.g. Arco Comfort Light Foam Grip Nitrile-Coated Work Gloves [https://www.arco.co.uk/Web-Taxonomy/Gloves/Type/Gloves/Arco-Comfort-Light-Foam-Grip-Nitrile-Coated-Work-Gloves/p/PIMM00000000013976] )

OSAHS does NOT keep supplies of PPE; you should speak to your line manager/School Office to order it

To provide you with your training certificate PGS requires that a photograph of your face is taken at the training (you are provided with a credit card sized certificate which shows your face, similar to a driving licence).
Additional Information- This course is free of charge, and if you wish to cancel, we require five working days' notice, otherwise there will be a cancellation fee of £150 to your department.
