Blue Monkey Network: Creating a bit of a do!

About

An informal festive celebration of a year of creativity. Blue Monkey Network Members should bring with them an item that represents something they have made this year, that they can talk about for a few minutes. It can be something that is part of your normal practice; (e.g. a portable painting, drawing, embroidery, sculpture), or an artefact made while trying out a new media form, a short piece of writing, a photograph, a piece of music, a video, or something you perceive as a failed experiment. If you are completely stuck for an example, then please bring an image or object that has inspired you. (If it is a recipe for mince-pies, you will of course need to bring at least half a dozen examples!) We will display the artefacts you bring and then each member will be invited to talk briefly about their piece. (Any edible creations will be shared and eaten). There will be some free festive fare (drinks & nibbles) to oil the works, as we hope to spend a large part of the evening socialising and celebrating. This event is a Blue Monkey Network members only event. You can find out about becoming a member here. or you are welcome to join on the night. Blue Monkey was set up in 2011 with support from Towner, who host most of the events. They provide opportunities for networking and professional and creative development for East Sussex artists, running monthly events aimed at promoting the exchange of ideas and knowledge, between artists, curators and arts organisations. You can find out more about the network, how to become a member and what events have been and are planned here.
