If you’re trying to plan a visit to Brighton & Hove, work out the best way to get here, and gather any other useful information relevant to your trip, then you’ve come to the right place.
Being roughly an hour’s train journey from several London mainline stations, Brighton is pretty easy to get to. For more information on how to get here or to find out more about local public transport and the best ways to get around Brighton, we’ve got the lowdown on all things travel right here.
It’s good to get the lie of the land before visiting somewhere you’re not familiar with, so we’ve made a Brighton & Hove City Map for you to download and get an idea of what’s where. If, while you’re here, you need specific information about Brighton that you can’t find online, there are staffed Visitor Information Points located across the city including the Jubilee Library, Brighton Centre and Churchill Square Shopping Centre.
A stroll along the beach is a must when visiting Brighton, but it helps to check out the tide timetable. When the tide is low enough you might be lucky enough to see some sand, but otherwise, if you’re going for a swim, a pair of wet shoes can be really handy for that wobbly walk across the pebbles! The beach is patrolled from May to the first week of September in areas between the red and yellow flags. If only red flags are flying, that means it’s not safe to swim.
