Most businesses and attractions close early on Christmas Eve (24 Dec) and public transport also finishes earlier than usual. There is no public transport on Christmas Day (25 Dec). On Christmas Day all attractions and the vast majority of shops and restaurants will be closed; some pre-booked hotel restaurants will be open for a traditional Christmas lunch, as will a handful of ethnic restaurants and some convenience shops in the more residential areas. On Boxing Day there is very limited public transport but some more restaurants and shops will be open, as are usually the Brighton Palace Pier, Brighton i360 and Sea Life Brighton. Everything returns to normal from about the 27 Dec.
Larger shops are not permitted to open on Easter Sunday. Other than that most shops, restaurants and attractions will be open. The city is usually heaving over Easter. The opening times of the smaller, independent shops are up to the discretion of the individual owners but most are open over Easter, especially in the city centre but sometimes this can depend on the weather.
