Pavilion Gardens

The gardens surrounding the Royal Pavilion and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery have been restored as closely as possible to their original Regency design and make a picturesque spot for a picnic. 

The Beach

The beach is a great spot for a picnic, the section in between the two piers is usually the busiest spot but don't worry as there is plenty of beach for everyone! Take a short stroll past either of the piers and you'll find a quiet patch of pebbles for your picnic.

Stanmer Park

With its beautiful woodland walks and extensive open lands, Stanmer Park is just as perfect for a family picnic as it is for a kick about or a bracing walk over the Downs.

Devil's Dyke

Part of the stunning South Downs National Park, Devil's Dyke is a great picnic spot. Why not really work up an appetite and cycle up there? 

St Ann's Well Gardens

These beautiful gardens in Hove are known locally as "Squirrel Park" due to the large population of grey squirrels that live within its many trees - we're sure these cheeky characters will be happy to help you dispose of any leftovers! 

Hove Park

Covering 40 acres this is one of the city's larger parks. On the eastern side you'll find the 'Fingermaze' - a public sculpture of a giant fingerprint.

Preston Park

The city's biggest park is home to the largest municipal rock garden in the country. The Rockery is arguably the most bio-diverse garden in the city and also features twisting walkways, streams and waterways.

Kipling Gardens

On the edge of the city you'll find the picturesque village of Rottingdean, once the home of Rudyard Kipling. Today his former gardens make a tranquil spot for a picnic.

The Level

The Level is a Green Flag Park and features include the Play Fountains and the Rose Walk. Plus if you need extra supplies The Open Market is just a short stroll away...
