We are proud to be part of the Lewes theatre and we wanted to create a roastery to match the historic and picturesque Lewes town. We are all avid coffee enthusiasts and we encourage our customers and clients to drop in and share our passion.
Our Roots
At Trading Post Coffee, we stand for natural, sustainable, fair trade, premium coffee. Tradition and innovation are the driving factors used by our roasters to create our blends. Over the years, we've learned a thing or two about how to make great coffee. We pride ourselves on our unique artisan roasting method and we believe it is important to create coffee that is unique and enjoyable for all, as we take our place in a young but flourishing British coffee culture.
Our head roaster Tom grew up in a coffee roasting environment created by his world-renowned Master roaster father on the west coast of North America where 20th century coffee culture was born. Tom is following the family tradition in bringing two generations of knowledge and experience in creating the perfect range of blends to the South of England. Tom sees roasting as a mix of science, tradition and alchemy. Along with his team of junior roasters they are the backbone of Trading Post Coffee Roasters with over a hundred years of combined experience in the coffee industry.
Our Coffees
The origins of our beans are of great importance to us. Social and environmental responsibility from farms is one of our highest priorities. We know that the highest quality coffee comes from farmers who are committed to the highest quality in every aspect of their operation - from utilising sustainable growing techniques to the health and welfare of workers. We source our coffee from farms who ensure workers are treated fairly and nature is protected.
