Brighton Fringe is known for hosting a variety of events such as comedy, cabaret, theatre and dance but did you know that the programme also includes walking tours? Of course this being the Fringe each of the tours offers something a little different!
So to help you start planning your festival getaway we’ve selected some of our favourites from this year’s Brighton Fringe programme....
Brighton Food Tours
The V.I.B (Very Independent Brighton) Food Tour is a celebration of independent Brighton - packed with the eclectic sights and tastes from the unique makers to the unsung heroes of Brighton's indie food and drink scene. Over approximately 3 hours you'll get a chocolate box selection of the best foodie hot spots that quirky, independent Brighton has to offer. You might visit off-the-beaten-track street food stalls, hear about eco-aware sustainable food systems, get down & dirty with the most passionate burger-makers in town, meet food industry revolutionaries and a whole lot more.
All dietary requirements must be emailed in advance of the tour to hello@brightonfoodtours.com.

Guru Dudu's Silent Disco Walking Tours
Enjoy hilarious dance-walking tours of spontaneous flash mob dancing through the streets, interpretative dancing around local landmarks and lots of play, love and laughter. Everyone wears headphones (supplied and cleaned after each use) and can hear the fun commentary from the tour guide and the dance mix of uplifting favourites from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s.
You will need to wear comfortable footwear and if possibe we advice going empty handed as this will hamper your dance moves! (Why not replace the handbag with a bum-bag?)
This year there are two starting locations: New Road and a seaside tour starting from BA i360.

Ghost Walk of The Lanes
The Ghost Walk of the Lanes is an undemanding 80-minute tour of Brighton's oldest and most haunted quarter, visiting eight locations. Actors and storytellers are all suitably attired in Victorian costume and carry a few surprises in their Gladstone bag!
All the stories are long-established accounts of hauntings in and around The Lanes, alongside historical facts and peppered with comic respite. This is a family-friendly event that has received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Boogie Ruth will lead you and provide the laughs and commentary as your headphones pump out the sing-along and dance-along hits from now to back in the day (with maybe the odd sea shanty thrown in). Salty dogs, pirates, bathing beauties, mermaids and landlubbers all welcome.
Pack light, bring a drink and suitable footwear for walking (and dancing!)

Geoffrey Mead's London Road Tour
London Road is an area rapidly regenerating after years of inner city decline. New businesses have moved in, with improvements to the Open Market and The Level, new housing at the Co-op, New England and on Ditchling Road, and a general feeling of urban regrowth. The physical geography, historic nature of the buildings and layout of the former farmland bubbles through into the 21st century scene. This tour takes in history and landscape, past industry and present day housing.
